I'm very glad you put that photo on Sheila I have the Malva M. in my garden but didn't know what it was ,a friend said she gave it to me but she couldn't remember what it was called either , is it a perennial ?

Thanks Karen!
Amy, no, not a perennial, but seeds itself around so prolifically that it's as good as! Bought from beth chatto ten years ago and not been without it since.

Love these plants together Sheila - how funny that I just said to Gralew that my Malva plants were grown from seed a few years ago - yet they return with a flourish annually! :o)

Thank you Shirley - do you have other Malvas? This year, I grew Malva sylvestris from seed, which was 'billed' as having deep purple flowers, but sadly they are just a mid pink :(

No Sheila - only the moschata type. How disappointing to find your deep purple was not to be. :o(

Hmmm, and I can't even remember where I bought the seed . . . but maybe the growers can't always be sure that a colour will come true . . .

Mine is in a pot, which is not idea. I ought to have planted it in the Green and white border, but I can do that later. Yours looks so pretty. The feathery foliage is gorgeous isn't it!
