I don't have any roses, well apart from one in the front garden that was here when we moved in but the flowers are perfect aren't they, beautiful :)

Interesting name ...

Daylily, if someone had told me 4 years ago I'd be growing roses I'd have laughed in their face. I've become quite drawn to them, I know not why though!
Isn't it Hywel. I had no idea that it was a piece of music. steragram pointed it out to me and it's a lovely piece. I don't do 'classical' but enjoyed it nevertheless.

That rose certainly does justice to a hauntingly beautiful piece of music. Is it scented?

Yes it's scented but only faintly TB. This picture doesn't do it justice.
As I said above I was unaware of the piece of music but thoroughly enjoyed listening to it.

I always said I would not grow roses but my fences are thick with them. I have to stop myself buying more. I dk what it is about them either but they creep up on you.

You are not wrong Scotsgran. They are creeping up on me.

Hi Angie, interesting that you are now enjoying growing roses. We have a couple that don't get the TLC they deserve, ie fed or sprayed, against greenfly/blackfly and black spot etc., I've always thought of them, as a higher maintenance shrub, but really admire people that are able to grow them and keep them healthy. I was a able to retire early a few years ago and as part of my leaving present the lads at work bought me a beautiful rose, aptly named "Spirit of Freedom".... <];~))

That sounds lovely; I will Google it. Don't know how I'll find room for it if I love it!

We shall see how I am with them after a year or two Alan. I've always considered them high maintenance (unlike myself;)) - my grandfather used to spend a lot of time tending his roses. What a lovely gift your were given. I have googled it, its a pretty pink.
TB - bought another to grow nearby yesterday. R. Fighting Temeraire, the colours are similar but the flowers are different. I'm sure you'll find the room. I've still got to find a spot for Rhapsody in Blue but can't decide on which plants I need to get rid of in order to make room! Let me know how you get on.

Just googled your new rose to find it can be trained as an 8' high climber. Repeat flowering all summer and scented makes it a wonderful choice.

I should buy this for my OH as that particular piece of music is one of his favourites....and it is a super looking rose....
