Next doors new little front garden looks a bit like that with some bigger stones off the beach at Cromer.

wow. I did take just one stone as a reminder (wrote the date on it in bullet marker when I got home) but don't think I'd have taken more, even if I could have carried it all. lol when we went to Cornwall in 2002, one beach had a sign saying that taking stones was forbidden - I suppose if every visitor took just one there'd soon be none left and the beach would get washed away.

I thought the same Fran but tact kept me silent. There are four of these stones. Apparently people rob 'limestone pavements' for walling and rockeries A real bit of vandalism. Involving hacking at stones. Robbing beaches full of good sized stones that are rolled about and moved along by the sea is not quite so bad as using hammer drills to remove rare limestone pavements from the Yorkshire Dales.
