That's a shame Shirley :-(

A Goyer, possibly Motinot, suggested planting them in pots ... I never did try that though!

Gone straight to my favourites :p

Worth a try Shirley :-)
Thanks Tommymoo :-), I was sent the seed for this a few years ago but only got 2 plants so really must remember to collect seed this year, the flowers are quite large on this variety and I want more!!!

How big are the flowers???

10 Aug, 2014

Don't know about you Tommymoo but its persistently raining here but when/if it ever stops promise I'll measure it for you :-), its right at the bottom of the garden, which could well be a pond by now lol.

Here in Norfolk we have changeable weather; one moment shine, the next moment torrential rain. Hope it'll stop raining soon otherwise your garden might turn into a lake lol.

Cannot grow these either Shirley and I love them, such a beautiful blue and pretty flower...

16 Aug, 2014

Have you tried growing them in pots Dotty? I shall do that next year ...

16 Aug, 2014

They like well drained, organic-rich soil apparently ... no wonder they dislike our Sussex clay! Perhaps growing them in pots is worth a try?

16 Aug, 2014

The trouble with pots Shirley is we have so much growing in them already, and we have not the room to display them....the garden is just too small!!

16 Aug, 2014

Funny you should say that Shirley as this is growing in heavy clay at the bortom of a hill right near a giant scabious which seeds like a triffid and is also supposed to like well drained soil, very strange :-) ,mind you everything in that border grows well.

We can grow the giant Scabious but not these?

17 Aug, 2014

I remembered to measure them Tommymoo , at last lol, 31/2inches across.

17 Aug, 2014

I thought you meant 31 inches lol lol lol
31.5 inches -- that's quite big!!
The flowers must stand out in the garden.
