the feeder pole was fine till the gardner moved it, then it woul *not* stay upright. at one point I even lashed a diagaon metal pole to it, to brace it, but it didn't like that either. Had a branstorm couple of days ago and tried my small parasol base - seems to work. And now it's portable, so I can move it around without having to try to bury the spike back in the ground

I hope the birds come flocking Fran. They keep munching down my 8 port tube in about a week. Gold finches are the greediest ones and a flock of sparrows spraying bits of sunflower seed for the ground feeders. They all get something that way.

@ Kanre, thanks, wish I'd bought a couple now, but doubt they'd still have them - anyway, the weight wasn't enough to keep the paraol open *and* upright. I do have a much bigger one, but that's a bit too clunky, I was hoping that the smaller one would hold hte parasol.
@ Dorjac, thanks. an 8-part feeder?? do you have pics? I've been wondering how I could extend this one to add more arms to it. I need them! as it is, I'm having to use small ground-hooks for some of the feeders.
And this is a awkward to adjust. Each part is held on th epole by screws, so the only way I can change which height each is at is to take the whole pole down, take all the bits off, and replace them in a diffferent order. All I can do now is adjust each between the ones above and below.
I'd like one that has the pole mounts holding only an eye, and the feeder arms or tray or water dish could just be slotted in where I want them.. I'll have to start designing one ...
