It might look kind of rainy but the weather was just overcast and hazy. There's a lighthouse in the distance but it's kind of hard to make out

Some lake. Don't think we have any large enough to warrant a lighthouse, is it a working lake transporting cargo to different points

Yes, Lake Michigan is widely used for commercial transport as well as pleasure and recreation. There are straits that join the lakes as well as the St. Lawrence and Mississippi rivers.

Yes cargo is shipped across the Great Lakes but I only remember seeing large cargo ships on Lake Superior and Lake Erie.

How far do you live from the Lake? I can't make out the lighthouse, but can you post a picture of just the lighthouse? I would love to see it.
