Kniphofia 'Timothy'

One stem on mine did the exact same! Despite it being in a sunny spot and the remainder being totally upright. Odd!

A wayward plant lol. I did think it was probably just a weak stem because it has been a dry summer and I do not water very much.

I like these too. I have two clumps now as I bought another plant this summer as well!

Did you buy two plants of Timothy Pam or did you get two different ones. I like these as the look positively dainty compared to the big chunky leaves and tall flowering stems on the K. Uvaria which we got from OH's granny's garden.

I bought one called Popsicle, quite bright red and yellow and not too big...yet. Wait 'til it gets its roots down!:))

The Kniphofia Popsicle hybrids are new and yours sounds like K. Papaya popsicle, there is also Lemon, Mango, Orange Vanilla, Pineapple, Creamside and Red Hot popsicles. I had to look them up because I saw a Lemon Popsicle in Waitrose in Malmesbury on Wednesday and was surprised to hear you say your popsicle was red and yellow. I was tempted to buy it but we did not have space in the car to bring it home with us. OH's new (to him) car is a boys toy with very little space for what we women see as essentials. I was reading that these all like a bit of sun to flower well so am thinking I might need to move some of the ones I bought last year as they are not flowering yet.

We could start a national collection! :)) But I agree there is not always room in the car and so.......bit by bit I think.

I believe Ventnor Botanic Garden on the IOW is the Holder of the National Collection of Kniphofia.

The owners of this not for profit garden were given a 125 year lease as the local council needed to give it up.
Cotswold Garden Flowers website list 48 different kniphofia. I would need to take over the field behind the garden to house them all as I believe as well as 69 species there are also 129 cultivars. Amazing is it not.
