Iris germanica Chantilly flowering in spring (Iris germanica 'Chantilly')

A pink and yellow bearded Iris with frilly edges, flowering earlier in the year. Just taken off a seed pod as I used it as the mother in a cross I made. Watch this space.....in 5 years time!

Stunning!!!! , so the iris take even longer to flower than daylilies .
Do you hybridize a lot Siris ? And have you got any special seedlings from your efforts? :-)

Yes Simbad, they take forever, 5 years is not unusual. No, I don't hybridise many. You have to jump thro' hoops to get a seedling. My blog ' Iris from seed ' shows 2 bee polinated plants, and I have a little line of seedlings from mother parent Sultans Palace, about 2 years old.
