What a shame. What ate the flower?

I believe earwigs did this

I find earwigs the worst culprits in the garden....they eat my Clematis flowers AND my Dahlia flowers every year....I cant do the cane, flower pot and straw thing because i loathe the little bliters and am unable to empty the pots.....yuk....rather have the snails and slugs ANYDAY......:<(

I totally agree Motinot. I don't know why, but they gross me out.
We're going to try some traps this year, but I have my doubts as to whether it will have any effect on the number of earwigs in our garden. Plus.. then someone will have to empty the traps, and most likely that person will be me, as I am the bugmaster in our house.
