"I'm sure it said COURGETTE on the label" ...... !

I've often wondered about this Alan, and apparently there is no difference between a marrow and a courgette. It is only the stage at which they are harvested.

Karen, interesting! I quote from the article so that other GoY friends are aware, as you correctly say:-

Oh yes, that's a good point Carole. I really do not enjoy a marrow. But I love a courgette!

That's interesting Carole, I can see a blind fold coming out and some tasting sessions taking place ...... Not really sure how you would describe the difference in taste. Obviously a difference in texture too. Now you've started something ... lol

Yes, it's the watery texture of the marrow I don't like. I'm not a fan of mushy food...I like crunchy food! :))

we grow courgettes and sometimes if we miss picking one they grow big like a marrow. I slice and fry the courgette in butter in a fry pan until they are a golden colour and they are delicious.

Karen, I understand there is a posh expression for food cooked in this manner 'Al dente ' ..... My Mum, god bless her, used to send them back in a restaurant and asked them to cook them!

Linda, my OH did a stuffed marrow with savoury mince. Very nice, but took us two days to get through it. I may upload a photo later.
