Tanya, firstly welcome to GoY website and newly married life! Secondly, you have a lovely garden to start off with. You will get a lot of great ideas from this site by simply looking at other peoples garden/plant and flower photos. There are lots of brilliant ideas and friendly people ... All with the same interest ......To have and enjoy a nice garden ... As well as a bit of banter on occasions, as well. Enjoy the site and enjoy your garden. If you have a specific idea, use GoYpedia (the website encyclopaedia), there is a lot of great photos in it. I have only been a member since April and I must say I think the site is brilliant.

Tanya, I've only been a member since last autumn and the amount of ideas, advice and friendly encouragement I've had in that time is astounding! GoY is indeed brilliant!!! I'm the only gardener in my family so I go onto GoY for advice, inspiration and problem solving. It actually becomes quite addictive... Good luck with your first tentative steps into gardening, mistakes are made by all, experienced or not. I am looking forward to seeing how you transform your garden into your own wonderful outdoor canvas!

Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome! It's great to know that there are others online in search of fantastic gardens too, though I am willing to guess you all have fantastic gardens already!

You've all given me some fantastic ideas already! I'm going to start by making the 'blank canvas' picture and visit some gardening centres for ideas. I'm also going to start planting some bulbs - can anybody recommend any?

I really like alliums so I'd like to grow some of those!! X
