My younger desert rose is blooming. It's actually taller than my 10 year old plant, but doesn't have the big caudex. Photo taken Aug. 26, 2014.

Alexandramou:
Yes, this plant must have full, very hot sun. Remember: this is truly a desert plant.

Thanks! I purchased it last summer. It was very cheap and tall. My other Adenium species (I can't remember the name) is blooming, also.

Thanks Delonix. I have them in full, very hot sun....still no flowers. Maybe next summer.
I found one for sale...beautiful flowers but I'm going to wait for my five to bloom.

Typically, they bloom very young...only around two years old.
My 10 year old plant has a big seed pod. I may grow some from seed...as most are grown from seed. It is extremely difficult to grow this plant from cuttings.

It's not so bad. I just put the cutting into the dry soil here...this spot the sap from running.
