Fuchsia..Ballet Girl..

Gifted cuttings from Cinderella ,about 3 years ago..There are two in this pot,and it's the second, and best flush of flowers..I'm so pleased,as I thought I had lost them this year ,as they took so long to get going..

that's a lovely one. It's like the one I have in my hanging basket, which I thought might be 'White Eyes' but it could also be this one....never mind. They are both lovely!

It reminds me a little bit of the very first Fushia I ever bought - Swingtime. I loved that one and it was easy to strike cuttings too... :o)

That's what it reminded me of ,Petaltracey..and snap! it was the first I ever bought too..I was a complete novice then, and hadn't got the expertise..or good luck,to take successful cuttings :o).I probably didn't even try,to be honest..I did tend to expect everything to survive :o)

Sandra: This is one of the best looking fushia plants I've seen. I love the red and white and how they dangle like ornaments. Are these hardy? Do they winter over? It looks very happy in that pot.

Thank you Paul..It is a lovely one,and no,it isn't a hardy one,so I keep it in the Conservatory through winter..and not in the outside plastic growhouse.I daren't risk it.I was very pleased to have a cutting sent from a kind member a few years ago..There are actually two in that pot, propagated from cuttings..so far ,so good :o)

When you have it in the conservatory, is it still in bloom or does it go through dormancy? I'm really smitten with it. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.

It stays in leaf and flower, till it gets really cold ,just depends what kind of a winter we get,as it is unheated in there..If it does drop all it's foliage,I just trim the tops off..and it usually kick starts again in early spring..I don't leave them in those pots,so I repot them into indoor ones in fresh compost..just big enough to contain the roots....I keep them on the dry side ..just a little water occasionally..hope this is what you wanted to know,Paul..:o)

Thanks Sandra: That is very helpful. Also I know I owe you a couple emails, i'm going to write them.

That's ok,Paul..busy times at the moment..:o) glad to be able to get back on here ,as my system closed down last night..no idea why,as it is fine again this morning !
