I have a Dianthus in bloom now with the exact 'shocking-pink' shade as the centre of this ... love it!

I too love the central shade, it's the pale pink I'm not fond of. I think in my case it's made worse by the fact that mine is planted beside a peach rose...not a nice combo. It probably just needs moving....off I go to move it before I forget! :))

I've moved it and it looks so much nicer in it's new home. Actually, out of all my phlox (I bought 10 bare rooted in the spring, and they were TINY when I planted them) this one is the strongest, with the most flowers. It would be a shame to remove it. :)

Gosh yes - you're not allowed to 'remove' one of my favourites, lol. :) I like the softness of the two pinks together, and have mine near a phlox which is a deepish pink like the centre of this.

Who did you buy your bare rooted ones from (but maybe it wasn't mail order)?

..hayloft. To be fair, they have all grown, and most have flowered already, but they were very tiny and I was disappointed when they arrived. But I bet they will be lovely next year when they've bulked up a bit!
