3 different Roscoea seedlings. Seed from the SRGC seed Exchange earlier this year. I had a senior moment and potted them up individually against the advice I was given from the SRGC Forum. Most have survived but I did break one off when I was weeding the other day. I assume I will have lost it.

Very artistic set up is it all grit they are set down in or sand underneath.

Bjs it is polystyrene chunks for a couple of inches with a mix of grit, compost and sand then a half inch of grit on top to keep the slugs off. I emptied the pot to use it for Gardening Scotlands filled pot competition. When I discovered it was too big it just lay around so I thought it would do to park the pots in. Wendy I know the plants should be hardy so will just give them a bit of shelter over the winter and hopefully I may see flowers in 2- 3 years. It is very satisfying to have got them to this stage and I will be over the moon if they come through the winter unscathed. I have Roscoea cautleyoides purple, yellow and 'Himalaya'.

Pcw fingers crossed they do better than hoped for. I will be devastated if I lose all of them. They have grown a lot since I potted them on. I also have some Pleione seedlings. I cr how many seeds there was in a packet of them but I think there is six seedlings in the pot. I have had better luck with my geranium seeds. I have already given some of them away but I am too busy to take photos at the moment.

Hi yes they are very slow growing aren't they. Only have Roscoea purpurea seedlings - goodness knows how long it will take before they are flowering size.
