Clematis 'Carnaby'

I chopped all my Clematis down in July this year and now they are coming back into flower

I don't cut my clematis ever,I must start doing so.?

I usually cut my clematis at the end of the year then spread fresh compost at the base ready for the winter.

I love this one, have not done ours yet, because it is far too warm here at the moment, will buy composted bark to put around them....

They were cut down when I was raising the canopy and I really didn't expect to see any of them again this year.
