White Camellia in bloom October

I purchased a tiny stick of a Camellia in Morrisons back in March for £2.
A nice wee surprise this week.

Indeed! Might it be the autumn flowering kind do you think? If it is you've done so well to get a flower this far north I think.

...sasanqua....the name just came to me!

Thanks everyone.
I wondered myself Karen when I saw it in flower but checked the label and it does say C. japonica - White flower. Leaves also look identical to the others I have but from what I can gather the C. sasanqua leaves look the same too! So still none the wiser.
We shall see what happens in future years, if indeed it gets through winter.

I tried Sasanqua once, but it was a disaster, even in the cold greenhouse.
