Phil I have noticed with the cyclamen and the snowdrops the flowers open small and expand over there first couple of days in flower.
This year I have a couple of Cyclamen Cilicium that I know the roots are very poor and although there are a few flowers they have stayed minute so I suppose like most things the healthier the better the quality.
Have been moving my Snowdrop troughs back into the glasshouse for winter they also contain Solanellas which I see have self sown seedlings around them.
