Another Clematis that was cut down in July

Now , I am a "would-be" gardener , you two .
Which clematis should be cut down in July ? I have more than a few dotted about , only the Montana is truly successful ; I'm never quite sure , so I never cut any down .
I found two blooms like yours yesterday , Annella , the first time that it has ever done so . It only took it about 10yrs .

None Driad! Annie is being unconventional! Cut down the group 3s either now or in late winter, and lightly prune the group 2s at the end of winter. Group 1s don't need any pruning at all.

Oh, and you'll probably have more success with them if you feed them and water well during dry spells. They are hungry b*****s!

You have been lucky with your pruning Annella ,shows you can't always go by the books ......

This one was pruned back with a very unruly Haliana Honeysuckle, in fact I had forgotten about it until I saw the flower. There are several more buds to open. Can I add that this is growing in a spot that gets no direct sunlight :O)
