Just a cutting this year. The colour is not the best this late in the season sadly.

Yo be fair Delonix there are a few varieties of S.leucantha. The parent of this was a pale lavender colour. It came in when the nights were cool.
Amy - I'll do some cuttings in the spring.

I think the really popular color here is the bright purple-blue. I like this one. It looks like cotton.

I have a fondness for the "furry" Salvias. Do you know S.oxyphora?

The Anna Humminbirds love S. oxyphora! (and most Salvia species) Pretty much all Salvia species grow here. Even the species that grow as annuals in the UK grow as evergreen shrubs here. Most are very, very drought tolerant.

Meanie:
That's funny. I just noticed I put humminbirds instead of hummingbirds in my previous post.

I just assumed that it was a typical American non-spelling LOL!!!!

No, they are called hummingbirds. They are my favorite little bird. I get several nests in the trees around my house every March. Last year, I accidentally cut down a hummingbird's nest with eggs, which was in my Ficus craterastoma tree. I felt so horrible!

That's so strange to see the flowers so white...typically they're a very bright purple-blue. Is it growing indoors?
This is one of the most common shrubs here. It's definitely over planted here in San Diego. I think it's because of it's extreme drought tolerance.
