Ilex (Holly) Golden King

Mine is the same,Hywel,in fact it's had berries continuously for the past two years..My favourite variety of Holly..:o)

It's is a lovely one Hywel and Sandra, no prickly leaves either? Wonderful colours, another for my wish list, but where will I put it?? Another potted one for me...:))

No prickly leaves,Janey,which is great..go for it in a pot,it will look good.:o) I do like that Hywel has trained his as a standard..looks classy :o)

It would look nice in a pot Janey. You'd be able to move it around :o)
But I'm sure mine has sharp leaves.

Sandra, it once had branches all the way down, but I cut the bottom ones off, in order to be able to plant things under it.
But it's very dry under it, so not much will grow there :(

I don't think I could do that with mine now Hywel,as it has quite a few branches,so it would probably spoil the look of it.It was one of the first things I planted when we moved here in 2002.It's also very dry underneath like yours,so only spring bulbs, and pink Oxalis in the summer grow ok,but better than nothing :o)

Mine was about 10 yrs old when I did it, and I'd brought it from the old cottage garden too :)
And in this garden it has been moved to 3 different locations lol ...
I like pink Oxalis. I'll have to try some under my tree.

So do I,Hywel,even though most class it as a weed..I've never found it invasive..easily split if it gets too big.I found some growing in a back lane,when I used to take my daughter to Primary school.and she is now 35 ! I have several clumps of it :o)
