Hi Driad. The bell is mainly symbolic feature. This dog is very friendly, although, it probably should not be.

We have cobble stone roads in the village and it is very difficult to walk on. I prefer it on the walls :-)

always been partial to the idea of using what you have at hand. Plenty of stone on our little bit of heaven. This gate is inspirational...have been toying with the idea of a stone bridge/driveway over the stream.
