Agave attenuata

there are many in the yard. This one is surrounded with plant which looks like maiden fern.
This is the agave which has an interesting flower... it looks like a swan's neck. I posted a picture last year. When the flower is gone the plant dies but also sets many babies around.
This will look amazing when and if all 3 will shoot a flower up at the same time.
This agave have soft "leaves" and it's points are nor sharp.

Interesting, Klahanie. How large are these at the moment... I can't get much of an idea of size from this pic ..

Each of them about 2.5ft in diameter. But I have seen much bigger.

Driad, I will not happen very soon.

they only flower once and then die. Usually at the end of their growing cycle .It waits until many of the young form around the base and then it shoots the flower up.
Agaves are generally slow growing and it can take many years before they are ready to flower, But the plant itself is very ornamental.
We had one blooming here last year.

I've had mine since..2000? I cant recall exactly. Never has bloomed in ground. Pups alot. One tall stem. Another with a long stem is in a pot I posted.
Great plants..more bluegreen with some shade...green in full sun.
