Aloe in bloom (Aloe plicatilis)

Aloe plicatilis is flowering early this year. I actually hadn't even noticed the flower stalks until today. A surprise- and more then stalks, real flowers.
Hummers love this plant.

It's looking very good! It most likely loves all the rain.

This is one water liking Aloe. This particular plant I've posted on all the various boards over the years and I have been told is a 'compacta' version. It stays dense. Leaves 1/2 that of others I've seen. Might take more time to be sure.

I really like this species of Aloe. It doesn't look like most species. My neighbor has the large form and it loves it here in San Diego. I've seen many nice specimens up in the SF Bay Area, also.
