Amy & Wildrose it is a psychological thing looking for the first blooms, I took the camera into the garden an hour ago and took a couple of pictures of a white Daphne the perfume was wonderful.
Will post them tonight.

Lovely......
I haven't any to look at this year as I've moved but, I won't , on the other hand, have the disappointment of seeing how many more have succumbed to the mice!
I lost many hundreds of them over the years!

Paul you may not have mice problems where you are now. They have never bothered them here. Now Squirrel that is another thing we have them chewing and digging in plague proportions There current irritation is chewing the Camellia buds leaving them shredded on the ground.

There are mice in our back garden, Brian, as there is evidence in the shed!
But, there is a squirrel around too.
So, we will have to see whether I can grow them here in future years!

Nice to see a clump of Snowdrops flowers so early in the year! I know of a garden on the way to town where they have a clump come up every year around Christmas/New Year time.
The ones you sent me last year are now starting to flower - well, at least one has! I think there are more pushing through the soil in the tub but it was too cold & windy the day I took a couple of photos a week ago. I had to hold the flower between thumb & index finger to get a close up shot as the wind was blowing it all over the place!
For the same reason I didn't hang around to get a better look at the pot they are in. I did however notice the tips of other bulbs poking through the soil whether they are Snowdrops or other bulbs I don't know at present. If tomorrow is calm & sunny I'll go out & have another, closer look.
