Yes Paul, nice of you to notice. We tried to get the garden free of weeds, before Christmas. I have also put a mulch of bark on the beds to supress weeds. I have lowered the hawthorn hedge, with the neighbouring farmers field by 50 cms, to make it easier to maintain. Also had a problem with a mole, wrecking my lawn, but I managed to sort that.

It looks nice and cosy in there Alan, I did similar with my vunerable shrubs/plants ;0)

Thanks Carole and Jane. So glad I did this just in time, prior to this freezing cold spell. The Camellia is so important to me, as it is a layered cutting from my Mum's garden. May she rest in peace. I hope it works for you Jane. I had a look at the Camellia today and the 15 flower buds are actually swelling. Hope it works for you Jane. Incidentally Jane, the black clips, holding the plastic to the canes, are the ends clips, cut off a ladies trouser hanger. I guess clothes pegs would do as well.
