Black Pearl my new Amaryllis

This is beautiful Kath.......lovely colour. I was given a bulb by my sister in November.....it has finally decided to grow. Watch this place.

This is even grown taller than the one I had last year Linda.

But love the colour.

I get a lot of pleasure growing these.

And hoping last years one blooms again for me it has started to regrow.

Lovely to see your Amaryllis open now, Kath! :-)) I also have one open on our living room table. It's a pure red, though unnamed, as it's one of my seedlings that has flowered every year for the past 4 years at least.

In the next couple of weeks I will have more plants coming into flower. I have one on our bedroom windowsill that has a scape at least 30cm (1ft) high if not more! I'll have to bring it into the living room soon.

I also have another - on top of a wardrobe in the 2nd bedroom - which has a scape at least 10cm high! It hasn't had a drop of water since the end of August last year! It's there together with many other pots of Amaryllis simply because I have so many I can no longer fit them in the windows of our flat - not even with three tiers in each window!!!
