Lovely plant. Keep fed and watered but don't overdo it.

Thanks for the tip Linda. When the soil dries out, I water/feed from the bottom so the crown stays dry - about once a week.

Sounds as though that's about right Paul. I hope you keep safe with all the snow falling in your area.

Thanks Linda, The storm is still with us with the driving wind and heavy snow. It is suppose to end around noon, but it sure doesn't seem like it. If this storm is heading your way, get ready for a monster of a storm.

We are supposed to be getting some snow showers on Thursday. I always keep some extra food in the cupboards at this time of the year Paul, as we live at the top of a hill. I don't mind walking in the fresh snow but don't go out if I can help it if it turns icy.

Things usually freeze up here after dark. Luckily I see the days slowly getting longer.

It's certainly nice when the sun comes out for a while after the dark cloudy skies we've been getting. The days are getting longer now.

I really like the African Violets - They come in such a range of pretty of colours and those velvet like leaves are amazing! I always water from the bottom by gently dunking the pot into a bowl of water and waiting for the air bubbles to disapear, but you have to be very careful with the African Violets as they don't like any water droplets on those beautiful velvety leaves!

Thanks for the tip Tracey. I water/feed exactly as you do. I let the plant sit in the bowl of water/food for about 10 minutes, then let it drain completely - keeping the crown dry all the time.

Thanks Waddy - That's good to know. If anything happens to the plant I can start a new one from a leaf cutting.
