It is an interesting plant (it is not on our property) .We are infested with all sorts of ants Hywel. The ones I dislike the most are leaf cutters. They can strip all garden over night. I prefer my deer on Vancouver island...I can chase them away if I need to. I tried all sort of tricks with these ants but no luck.

I've never seen Shrimp plants growing as profusely as this, only in pots in greenhouses, as Hywel probably grew his.

The Shrimp plants and Hibiscus grow well here,although summer - fall or early winter is the flowering season.
I wish I had tried mixing the two now that I see a photo. Good idea!

I often grew these as house plants but they always attracted lots of ants :o(
They are pretty plants though ...
