Mexican Shrimp plant and hibiscus

I often grew these as house plants but they always attracted lots of ants :o(
They are pretty plants though ...

It is an interesting plant (it is not on our property) .We are infested with all sorts of ants Hywel. The ones I dislike the most are leaf cutters. They can strip all garden over night. I prefer my deer on Vancouver island...I can chase them away if I need to. I tried all sort of tricks with these ants but no luck.

Ants are difficult to get rid of :( I'm sorry to hear you have trouble with them ...

I've never seen Shrimp plants growing as profusely as this, only in pots in greenhouses, as Hywel probably grew his.

Yes, I grew it in a pot :o)

This was a hedge along the wall.

You can eat deer too but I don't fancy trying ants!!

The Shrimp plants and Hibiscus grow well here,although summer - fall or early winter is the flowering season.
I wish I had tried mixing the two now that I see a photo. Good idea!
