The Capri is surround by Mexican Fan Palms. This is located at Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA. on a very hot day.

Oh yes, I'm sure it wouldn't be allowed to be built today. It's so close to the cliff with the beach just below. One day it'll end up in the Pacific Ocean (because of natural beach erosion)

I don't think they would ever allow such a huge commercial building to be built right on the beach nowadays. That has a circa 1962 look to it.
Up here I've never seen a beach with something like that. The bay is another story...
