I wondered why the name "Jan Neruda" (not Neurda). Jan Neruda was a Czech writer and I have one of his books.
There is another Saxifraga x megaseaflora named " Karel Capek" which was another Czech writer. I was wondering is the breeder of these plants was Czech national. I surfed the net but could not find any information.
Lovely plant by the way.

More info on S. 'Karl Capek' can be found on this link. http://www.saxifraga.org/plants/saxbase/taxon.asp?Taxon=1373
and on this link will be found on s. Jan Neruda. http://www.saxifraga.org/plants/saxbase/taxon.asp?Taxon=1436
There are two Czech breeders involved.
This is a lovely plant SGB.

Thank you very much Scotsgran for the guidance. I was able to find lots of information on the breeders: Holenka and Kraus.
Two plants exist by the same name "Karel Capek" , one from Holenka, one from Kraus. They were crossed to create Saxifraga x megaseaflora "Jan Neruda". Interesting (to me anyway) .
Thanks again :-)

You are welcome Klahanie. I am always interested in the history of plants. The Czech breeders seem to be fond of saxes. Holenka bred one of the parent plants of the other sax. Sbg is showing. She has wonderful plants.
