I'm determined to learn to use what is available to edit photos and I have managed to cut out a lot from the previous photo.

I think you are right to id it as G. nivalis flore pleno. I looked back at the one you posted earlier this month and it has this single green stripe on those mid length petals. I went in to the garden today armed with a rule and found this one is 5" tall. The other similar doubles are 4"-5" tall and I always assumed they were G. flore pleno. The difference between this one and the others in a different part of the garden, apart from the fact that they are almost past and this one is just starting to look its best, is this ruffle round the inner petals and the size. The flower on this one is 5cm across but on the others only 3-4 cms across. The single G nivalis are all 8-10" tall. I suppose all of these differences could be down to their growing conditions. Thank you for taking the time to help me.

Sheila
That is normal the double flora plena about 5in and the single nearly as tall again.
I am not sure if you have seen the small blog I put on for you few days ago of this snowdrop it was for you to compare .

I have now, thank you. Thank you for confirming the heights too. I am happy that what I have is G. flore plena.
