The Amaryllis flowers certainly are lovely, Kate! I'm glad you have got the bulb to flower for a 2nd year!

I find them as easy as Daffs to grow - bar keeping them frost free! I have 50 or more that have flowered every year for the last 5 years!

As we have our youngest son & his wife & 2 year old daughter with us at present almost all my Amaryllis have had to go outside on the balcony table. Others are flowering in the kitchen. There are dozens of plants with buds that will be flowering over the coming weeks as well! :-))

What confusion! Now Scotkat because you live in Scotland!

If I have had a hand in helping you to get your Amaryllis to flower for a 2nd year then I'm very glad! Just start to feed it with a general fertilizer once the flowers have finished. That will promote growth of the leaves which will feed the bulb for next year's flowers. In June switch to a tomato or rose fertilizer & keep feeding till the end of August once a week. Just make sure the plant doesn't sit in a plate of water for long as the roots, being fleshy, rot quite quickly.

Many of my bulbs that I transplanted last year are producing 2 stems on each bulb this year! :-))
