My goodness that is massive, cannot believe it lost all its leaves, luckily ours are not as big as that, otherwise we would be in trouble lol

There's another quite near this one that also lost all its leaves and remarkably it recovered too, if it wasn't for the fact there were so many other things to clear after those winters they may have been dug up !!!!! Thank goodness they were last on the list !!!!!

They are so nice to good for contrasting with other plants.

It does Siris, I tried growing the seed one year got loads of seedling half were plain green the others were plain cream, all the cream ones died the green I threw as they weren't very pretty.

I'm glad you put this on. If mine lost all it's leaves I'd dig it up thinking it was gone. Good job you didn't! Its a very handsome plant. :)

Thanks Wildrose I think your right :-) there's another just a few feet from this one with dark leaves, the soil they're growing in is pretty rubbish, grey heavy clay,so can't believe how well they're doing they did get a treat last week of some well rotted manure :-)

No its not :-) luckily we have a friend who regularly brings us bags of horse muck and we do have areas of better soil that was brought in when we built the house so its not all as bad , our last house was really sandy soil which was much worse !!
