I usually just put them straight in, but they come from a great place and they've been vaccinated.

Sounds pretty high Tec vaccinating them.
as matter of interest do you pay for that service

I get them from our local ish water garden centre and they specialise in koi and they get them from Israel every year for the new season and they get vaccinated at the fish farms, atleast then you know you're paying for quality, last year I had one from somewhere else and it died later in the year, that's the first and last time I've used anywhere other than my regular water garden centre
