Most of my peonies are affected this way except tree peonies and one I planted last year. It is breaking my heart . Does anybody know about a peony disease??
I have 8 plants.

Thank you Sheila (for your sympathy) I love these plants. Each May/June they made my front bed very special. I inherited several of them and they were well established.
Apparently they had a mild winter and it appeared they were well advanced in the growth. I know that peonies need cool winter so that could be a problem...maybe. Hopefully they will come back next year.

That's horrible! I wouldn't know what the problems is because we can't grow them here. I do hope you find what's the problem is, though.
Can it possibly be caused by a very mild winter, there?

I was reading on it and it is probably caused by lots of rain and mild winter, Two fungus diseases (for peonies) I read about are root related and I will probably loose all the plants. I will not be able to plant another peony in the same location. These were always so healthy and well established. Peony takes years to establish itself.
My tree peonies were not affected.

I'm so sorry to hear about your peonies. Hopefully, you'll get to replant some in another location. I'm glad to hear the fungus didn't affect the tree peonies.

Thanks Delonix1. I will wait and see what develops . There are some leaves that are still alive.

Maybe some will recover from the fungus?
I've seen on tv that you're still receiving a lot rain up there. It's the rain we need so desperately here in California.

Come and get it Delonix1 :-) and bring the sunshine. Please.
We suppose to get a nice weekend though. High teens and wormer nights.

I'll come and get your rain and you can get the sunshine and 87ºF (31ºC) temp which is forecasted for tomorrow.
