I've lost all the foliage some years to that awful Red Lily Beatle Neena, so I'm keeping my eyes open on this one at the moment.
Paul, I had several of these planted up in Red Yellow and Orange. I've only got two of the orange ones left now... Not sure how I've managed to loose them...:o(

Mine are blind this year but I've never lost any. I plant them very deep on their sides.

Thanks Meanie, I'll remember that for another time... Why do you think yours have come up blind this year?

Too sodding cold!!!

Or more likely the fact that the Taxodium is only just starting to leaf up (cos it's been so sodding cold!) which has deprived them of shade.
Or maybe a few quite harsh frosts as they emerged.

By deep, I mean 25 to 30cm deep. Dig the hole a fair bit deeper, mix the soil with grit and sand, backfill to 25/30cm, put the bulbs in and fill the hole back in to 4 or 5cm short of level. The last bit I refill with the plain soil that I took out to try to stop so much rain draining through.
