Very nice, shame we can't grow it here. These leaves are very expensive at the florist wholesaler.

Thanks! I would guess the leaves are expensive, because it's not a very fast growing shrub.

Mine are now sending out shoots at the axils. Petra lost two of three stems. Mammy is alright. I found somebody clipped off the top of the tallest stem- you know they are just never going to get it to root, damn thieves. Still, its doing the many new shoots thing too.
Whats the story on the Banana's, Andy? Over wintered green,or late winter flowers, now young banana's?

That's great to hear! I know they're very tender up there...so it's amazing they actually survived at all.

Here I have problems with keeping them watered. The ones in the ground, in my yard look horrible because they keep drying out. It's said crotons have a very high drought tolerance...not here in San Diego! I've lost them to lack of watering. My Mammy was beautiful, then during the last hot spell a few weeks ago it was very hot and my plant dried severely and the several lower leaves fell off. It so desperately needs to transplanted into a larger container.
