I like flowering cherries - where I used to live, there was a row of them, pink and white flowers, all down the street. Lovely - but boy did you end up with drifts of spent petals!

You are quite right! They are lovely for a couple of weeks but you also pay a price with the amount of spent petals!

lol but the prob is that the person who has the tree never ends up with the petals, they're blown down the road

In that respect you are, again, mostly right! I do know of a garden with a wonderful Cherry tree, that resembles a light pink cloud, whose petals mostly fall to the ground below it, but this is likely to be more of an exception than a general rule!

As Cherry tree flowers have quite light petals they can be carried quite a distance by quite light winds - & lately we have had some VERY strong winds!

hmm, they'd make lovely confetti if dried oitu - though it'd brobably be more trouble than it s worth, collectig them

Yes, you are probably right! They would make lovely confetti but the job of collecting them up, while avoiding bruising them, would be a terrible job!
