LOL Alan. We have quite a bit of lawn which needs to be cut and I do have 2 old hand mowers I bought in a garage sale because they looked neat. Never used them.
May and June are nicest two months for colour on our property....and then September - October when leaves are turning all sort of colours.

Thank you both, Katarina and Amy. It sure stands out on the hill.

So gorgeous! It almost looked like a Vireya Rhododendron for a minute.

Thank you Delonix1. Do you see the hot climate growing rhododendrons around San Diego often?

Klahanie:
Yes, the Rhodoendrons which tolerate heat grow pretty well here. I know Vireya species (tropical Rhododendrons) can grow well, also.
I know the Rhodendrons and Vireyas are loving the extremely very rare record rains we're receiving now. We've had extensive flash-flooding yesterday and this morning. Today we expecting a lot of rain, also. We're not complaining because we need the rain; however, we typically never get rain in May. It's very crazy!

Rhodies and azaleas are lovely at this time of year. You have a lovely garden Klahanie .. looks huge ..... it must take a while to cut the grass. I have a small hand mower you can borrow any time ... lol. I need a hand mower, as I have several small lawns edged by paths and walls.
