Daphnes

Top left: Rosy Wave, Bottom left: Lawrence Crocker, Top right: Meon, Bottom right: Stasek. The small one in the center is 'Wilhelm Schacht' and was looking rough coming out of winter. It has since recovered and I'm hoping it will flower this summer. Not sure why the image looks the way it does but I took the picture with my cell phone and it might have been raining.

Yes it is, I built it up there so they would have better drainage. The soil here drains pretty well but not well enough for Daphnes. I used topsoil that has sand in it and also have it mixed with peat, a little compost, coarse sand and pea gravel. I wanted fast draining soil but not so fast that the plants would need constant watering during the hot/dry weather we get in summer.
