OK will cover a couple of flowers see if I can prevent them cross pollinating and save some seed.
As for why you might loose them they are not that long lived normally that's why they set so much seed, do you have more rain than your previous home or does it appear to stay wet longer,I know the dwarf ones are prone to rotting at ground level if they stay wet for a period of time.

Thats helpful Brian. No, its not the rain thats the problem. I think it might be too dry actually. In my white garden it is so very stony, and theres a lot of bark mulch which has been dug in as I've planted in it. I think the problem might be too little water if its anything to do with drainage. I have one or two in the patio bprder and pod border and they look fine. My yellow one in the golden border has completely failed, but I did bring that one with me, so it must be three years old. I have some yellow seedlings for next year that I've grown from a packet of seed. We'll see how they go. Please dont bother to save seed for me because I'm not going to plant any more in the white garden. I had about 20 in there and I have none now, so it would be foolish to try again I think.

The Aquilegia are lovely again this year. Pity CK plants didn't survive. Hope the new plants are o.k.
