Caterpillar of mullein moth on my Verbascum chaixii. Also likes Buddleia, so was propagated with my secateurs into two pieces! Quite a few on previous plant

Just look what it has done to this one leaf!
Close the secateurs, shut your eyes, so you don't have to see the sqidgy bits or block your ears when treading on snails, so you don't hear the crunch. The birds clean up the evidence afterwards!

Siris I am a sad case - when I tread on a snail by accident i find myself apologising to it.Which makes very little sense as I don't hesitate with the slug pellets which kill much more slowly...
