Clematis 'H F Young' had it about 6 yearsand the first 4 years it got clematis wilt but eventually it stopped and for the last 2 years has given a great show.

One of the first clems I ever grew. Mine was also unreliable, but so beautiful. The other one that was a bit more reliable but similar was General Sikorski.

A lovely clematis Denise... I haven't had such a good year with my clematis... What do you normally do when you have clematis wilt? My OH says to dig it up, throw it out and don't plant another one there...!

No I keep them, several of mine had clematis wilt and all I do is cut them to almost ground level and let them regrow and after a few seasons it stops happening. As long as they are planted deeply and the roots are in shade you find most survive.
