My Iris book says tectorum has a limited colour range of blues, but there is a pure white one. It is lovely.

Good idea. I spent ages googling last night and didn't find anything remotely like it. It's absolutely fantastic Brian. I'm so glad you have it because you will be able to look after it properly. Can't wait to find out what it is though!

That is a beautiful Iris Bjs. I found this link has that very dinstinctive outline and broader petals. If you highlight the link it will take you into the webpage. Have a look at the previous photo too. It is too yellow to be yours but again it mentions that red highlighting. This is what it says in case you cannot find it.
A new pseudata cross between a yellow pseudacorus and a very early blooming seedling from our large 6 fall red 'First Act'.. Vigorous with green foliage http://www.ensata.com/HTML/BCIntros/LawtonRidge.htm

Karen
I contacted them Monday morning and as I thought it had been bought in ,they were listed in there catalog and are sold out. Surprised no one else has contacted them find it a bit hard to believe mine would be the only one not Tectorum. anyway they said they would try to identify it and come back to me ,nothing as yet.

Brian, It seems Evolution plants was sold in Sept 2015. Have found one nursery selling the new I. pseudata hybrids for 2016 called Lilies water gardens, quite pricey. Could not justify the price so I have recently bought seed of I. Pseudocorus alba after seeing your lovely Iris (hybrid?), as it has some similar makings, not the tinted edge though. The seeds are at present having up to a 13 week cold straition period in the fridge.

Siris
Evolution plants did tell me when they were shutting down at least the lady manager did so i never got any where with the naming.
You know far more about Iris than i do so interested to know how you associated the name Pseudocorus with it,I know the meaning of the word pseudo but beyond that I do not understand the connection or should the word be pseudacorus (my spell check wanted to change to that spelling ) if it is I am even more lost.
After my plant flowered last year i split it in three and as far as I know they are all alive in long toms
If you would like one I will check them out and you are more than welcome to one if they are OK.

Brian (should be spelled Pseudacorus). As you say predictive text/ me not checking! Really my interest lies in Bearded Iris, however it niggled me to not know about your Iris. I think your plant, as Scottsgram suggests, is a cross between pseudacorus and ensata, these are now call pseudata, from bits from the two words. These are new hybrids to gardeners, however it may just be a very nice form of I, pseudacorus alba. You will probably never be able to tell without complicated testing. This I have found from following leads on Google, to try to satisfy my curiosity.
You are so kind offering me a piece of the plant.
