Honeysuckle Arch

Honeysuckle Arch

Honeysuckle arch looks and smells lovely this year. A mirror has been added in the last 12 months, behind the statue. The Gladitsia tree reflection provides a nice light yellow backdrop to the statue.

That works brilliantly Alan! Absolutely inspired! Love it! You can't beat a mirror to bring light to a very shaded spot can you? I know they can cause confusion for birds, but I would use them again and again in dark spots. It makes a huge difference.

Thanks Kathy and Karen, we now have three mirrors dotted around. So far we have avoided any accidents with birds. I was hoping that the positioning of the mirror and other garden items would reduce the chances of this. The honeysuckle smells wonderful on cool damp evenings.

No, they are budding up nicely. Its funny though. I planted 12 in the hedge when we moved in. One is huge and covered in buds. The others are all alive and growing, but not very established yet. Probably something to do with dryness. The one thats good is in a planted part of the garden, so it gets watered.

Yes it can get dry under hedges I think you have hawthorn like ours. I have planted a couple of Osmanthus in gaps in the garden side of our Hawthorn. I have watered them since I put them in a four weeks ago, they seem be be doing fine.
