What is this, Klahanie? Is it edible?

8 Jul, 2015

Hi Katarina, I think the stems are edible when young but it is primarily cultivated as ornamental plant for its massive leaves. It likes wetness and the spot I plated it is soggy year round. Native to Brazil (I think).

Can you stand under it yet? I've seen them used like umbrella, lol.

Thank you. Looks like "rebarbora" to me, lol.

Green_fingers, not yet but it is getting there. It can grow to 10 ft and much wider.

Katarina, It is also called "Brazilian rhubarb" but it is not related to rebarbora. :-) Just looks like it.
