My first ever daylily seedling and one I'll always keep over 4ft tall,its just a shame when measuring the flowers you aren't allowed to uncurl them as 5inch doesn't seem big but with all the curling its actually quite large, this one has been moved from the allotment into the daylily bed :-),so many flowers scapes this year.

You have to get there early to do the measuring - before the sun touches them. But it is a very rich burgundy.

Thanks everyone, this was my first year growing from seed, and I stupidly sowed the seed in autumn not spring so the plants weren't very big when we had one of those awful winters lost the lot except this one :-)

Well it tricked me Wylie they curl as each petal opens so no chance!, looks a picture today so many flowers open might go take another picture :-)
