Certainly No Shortage Of Crops For Our Salads This Year.

We have been picking Cucumbers for weeks but the To a toes are ripening now and the Peppers are plumping up but all are a bit late as the greenhouse didn't go up till end of May.

Me too. I binned my peppers last week. They were just starting to flower! The courgettes were also a huge waste of time. The tomatoes are good though, and the Cucs.

My first few pepper flowers buds just shrivelled, turned yellow and fell off but since I've been feeding, they have developed quite well but, whether they'll ripen is another matter. But, can eat them gree...in fact I prefer them gepreen but Julie doesn't!
No beef tomatoes for me this year Bathgate....Julie only likes cherry varieties but I have grown a few larger ones but not beefsteak size, just large enough to be able to slice.
Thanks Linda.

Usually been successful with them although I have had one or two poor years with them!

You've done well there. We had some cucumbers producing well but they got smothered in blackfly so got thrown out.....

The green ones are pretty good - but the red ones? - outstanding! I mean the red bells.

Still only two small ones started to turn red. (peppers) but the tomatoes have mostly ripened now! And a couple small cucmbers still growing but slowed right down now!

Don't let the cucumbers get too big, flavor starts going downhill. 8 inches max.

Are they the gherkins?

7 Sep, 2015

No...well they could be pickled like gherkins.I can't remember the name but they are really lovely and crunchy if picked before too big!
