Gynura aurantiaca (upright form) - Velvet Plant

Gynura? Haven't see one in ages. They were the staple of the 70's.
I remember one guy claimed he invented a new fertilizer and his ad showed a Gynura in a pot that he claimed was the largest potted indoor vine in the world. Like a comic book ad.

This is one in not the vine form. It's a shrubby form which grows to about 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall. The leaves are rounder and smaller on this form, also.

I do remember when the vine form was extremely common. It's still pretty common here in San Diego, though.

Just for trivia- but some say hairs on plants like Gynura make them part carnivorous. Passive carnys as the leaves are sticky to only the smallest gnats.

This poor plant needs to be transplanted into a bigger pot.
